‘What is this, witchcraft! You can see confidence, presence, and personality all at once, and I look natural, I can see it in my eyes’, said a recent corporate client.
The truth of the matter is, it’s neither witchcraft nor magic. Corporate headshots that work don’t do so by chance or a lucky click of the shutter (well, sometimes that may happen 😉 ). It’s experience. It’s knowing how to read body language, guide expression, and create an environment where professionals feel comfortable and confident in themselves. This works well when their colleagues aren’t in the same room, blowing raspberries, making funny faces or laughing; yes, that does happen in corporate environments. People think they’re being helpful.

Before someone reads your bio, your job title, or your company values, they’ve already formed an impression. We can still be quite a judgmental society, but that’s just the human condition. Our brains process visual information far faster than words, which means your headshot is doing the talking long before you do. And people don’t just see it—they feel it.
When a headshot is aligned, it communicates authority, approachability, and trust. When it’s slightly off, maybe too stiff, too casual, or inconsistent with your role or business, there’s a disconnect. Even if they can’t explain why, people sense it; we are a visually aware society.

Creating effective corporate headshots isn’t about making people look photogenic. It’s about craft – that word again!
· Understanding how professionals want to be perceived
· Directing confidently without overposing
· Creating consistency across teams and platforms
· Translating presence and credibility into a single frame
None of the above happens by accident. I don’t rely on witchcraft. I rely on experience (19 years and counting) and a deep understanding of my craft to create consistent corporate headshots that work for individuals, teams, and brands. Because when your visuals are right, trust is immediate. And that’s not magic. That’s experience and knowing how to get the best out of an individual.
Thank you to all my clients, new and repeat, for trusting me to do my very best for you.
